We’re looking for a backend-leaning Software Engineer to lead development on the core intelligence layer of a next-gen AI scheduling agent. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on ownership, wants to build useful AI that interacts with real humans, and is ready to get hands-on in an early-stage, product-driven environment. Bonus if you’re big on smart infra, contextual logic, and tools that make time management frictionless.
What You’ll Do
- Build infrastructure to process calendars, contact graphs, and behaviour data
- Lead development on smart scheduling logic — intros, prioritization, context awareness
- Collaborate tightly with product and design to iterate fast
- Flex full-stack when needed using TypeScript, Node.js, React, and Postgres
- Integrate with AI/LLM systems and human-in-the-loop workflows
- Own projects end-to-end with high autonomy and visibility
What You’ll Bring
- 4+ years software engineering experience post-college
- Strong backend fundamentals and infrastructure skills
- Full-stack ability — you’re confident jumping across the stack as needed
- Experience building products using LLMs or AI logic
- Passion for AI-powered productivity tools
- Based in San Francisco or open to 4 days/week in-office (Mission District)
Bonus Points For
- Background at high-growth startups (Retool, Notion, Superhuman, etc.)
- Experience with scheduling tools, social graphs, or contact modeling
- Product engineering mindset — you think in features, not just code
- CS degree from top-tier university (MIT, CMU, Ivies, etc.)
- Exposure to human-in-the-loop systems and AI agent logic
What You’ll Get
- Compensation range: $150K–$220K base + 0.1–0.5% equity
- On-site rhythm with flexibility: 4 days/week in SF office, Wednesdays WFH
- High ownership role on a lean, high-trust team
- Direct impact on a product redefining how humans interact with AI
- Visa sponsorship available
This is not a maintenance role. It’s a build-from-zero, ship-fast, own-it position.
