“Would you be open to relocating... to your current address?”
Yep. That actually happened.
Our imaginary candidate, let’s call her Maya, just got approached about a “dream role.”
The recruiter hyped it up, walked through the JD, and then dropped this gem:
👉 “Would you be open to relocating to [CITY]?”
Maya lives in [CITY]. Has for five years. It’s on her LinkedIn. Her CV. Even her dog’s Instagram.
This isn’t a jab at honest mistakes... we’ve all been there.
But it is a call-out:
⚡ Stop treating people like data rows
⚡ Stop sending mass messages with zero effort
⚡ Stop being surprised when candidates ghost you
